Eligibility Requirements

  1. Participants must be enrolled in Grades 3–5 during the 2026–2027 school year.
  2. Participants must reside in or attend school in Palm Beach County.
  3. Parents/Legal guardians must submit ONE of following along with proof school attendance for participants whether public, private,charter or homeschooled: 
    1. Brief teacher recommendation letter on school letterhead. If homeschooled, the parent may provide this letter.  
    2. Student’s FAST Reading Assessment report (level 3 or higher). We accept either: 2025–2026 PM3 (End-of-Year) Score Report, or 2026–2027 PM1 (Beginning-of-Year) Score Report
  4. Participants must complete the official registration form and submit the registration fee at the time of registration
  5. Participants must agree to follow all Spelling Bee rules and demonstrate good sportsmanship throughout the competition.
  6. Participants must attend at least 70% of the practice session plus dress rehearsal.
  7. Participants may compete in only one grade-level division based on their current grade level.
  8. Previous first-place winners may re-enter if they remain eligible by grade level.
  9. Registration is first come first serve and registration is non refundable
